the owners, Erick and Daniel, were the kindest, most welcoming hosts I've ever encountered. They created a warm and inviting atmosphere where everyone felt like part of a family. the breakfast they served each morning was delicious, with options for both vegan and non-vegan eaters. the property itself was stunning, surrounded by nature and offering a peaceful and calm ambiance. I especially loved the rooftop area, perfect for yoga sessions with an incredible view of the volcanoes. Cons: Nothing, everything was great! 😊.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The communal areas were cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing and socializing. The rooftop terrace had stunning views and was a great spot for doing yoga.
The toilet and shower facilities were not convenient, and it was a bit of a hassle to have to walk to them. The cleanliness of some areas could have been better, and it seemed like the toilets were not properly maintained.

We had the most amazing time at this hidden gem in the hills. The lounge and garden area were so cool and had a great atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious, with options for everyone, including vegan choices. We felt so welcomed and loved by the owner and staff, who made us feel like part of a family. The hostel itself was beautiful, surrounded by nature and with a breathtaking view. we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it.

Had an amazing New Year's experience at this hidden gem! the owners were like family, always going above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Loved the social vibe and the well-equipped kitchen. the freshly made breakfast with granola, fruits, and yogurt was a delightful start to the day. the eco-conscious water recycling system was a bonus!
Just a heads up, Google Maps directions might lead you astray. Better to follow the route after Blind's Lemons.

My stay at this lovely hostel felt like being part of a family. The owners, Erick and Danny, went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcome and had a great time. The highlight for me was the delicious breakfast, prepared with passion and served in the outdoor kitchen where I had the chance to meet other guests. The outdoor showers and bathrooms were well-maintained and added to the unique experience. The beautiful garden with papaya and avocado trees created a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hot showers were a pleasant surprise. The friendly and helpful hosts, along with the secure property, made me feel safe throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this place for a memorable experience in San Marcos. I had a fantastic time and would love to return in the future.

What an amazing experience! the owners and staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel like part of the family. the breakfast options were fantastic, with delicious vegan choices available. the hostel itself had a beautiful, calm atmosphere, and the rooftop yoga sessions with views of the volcanoes were a highlight. the hostel went above and beyond to make sure guests were happy, offering help with carrying bags and being flexible with check-in and check-out times.
it was a bit difficult to find the hostel initially, as there could have been better signage along the way. the overall chill and friendly vibe of the place made up for these minor inconveniences.

Wow, what an amazing experience at Casa Ahau! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were part of a loving, welcoming family. The owners, Erik and Checha, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They even helped us carry our heavy bags to and from the main street, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The hostel itself is stunning, with beautiful gardens filled with papaya and avocado trees, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The highlight for us was definitely the delicious breakfast every morning. Whether enjoying the Tipico breakfast or a refreshing fruit bowl, you could taste the passion and love that went into preparing it. The hostel's location, a little bit outside the central streets, provided a more peaceful atmosphere but still felt safe to walk around. The personal touch from the owners and the great vibe throughout the hostel created such a unique and special experience. I can't recommend Casa Ahau enough. It truly felt like a home away from home.
